StickyMat System – 220W/m²
High-output electric underfloor heating for tiled floors in colder or higher heat-loss spaces.
The Warmup StickyMat System 220W/m² is a high-performance electric underfloor heating system designed for tiled floors where faster warm-up and stronger heat output are needed. It is especially well suited to bathrooms, en-suites, wet rooms, kitchens, and other higher heat-loss areas.
If you want to understand how heating mats work and how to install them, read our StickyMat & EcoFloor Heating Mats Guide for installation tips, build-up advice and system comparisons.
If you are deciding between 150W and 220W systems, our Heating Mats Running Costs Guide, StickyMat Guide, and Underfloor Heating Calculator will help you compare outputs, likely running costs, and the best option for your room.
Product Description
The Warmup StickyMat System 220W/m² is designed for projects where a standard-output heating mat may not be enough. With its stronger heat output, it is ideal for areas with higher heat loss, colder subfloors, or a need for quicker response times.
The heating cable is pre-spaced and fixed to a self-adhesive mesh mat, allowing it to be rolled out directly onto the prepared subfloor. This helps achieve even heat distribution and can significantly reduce installation time compared with loose wire systems, especially in regular-shaped rooms.
The system is installed into tile adhesive or self-levelling compound, creating a durable underfloor heating solution beneath ceramic, porcelain, or natural stone tiles. With suitable insulation and controls, it can be used as primary or secondary heating, depending on room heat loss and insulation levels.

Key Features & Benefits
- High heat output – 220W/m² for faster warm-up and stronger thermal performance
- Self-adhesive mesh mat – quicker, more secure installation
- Pre-spaced heating cable – even heat distribution across the floor area
- Ideal for bathrooms and wet rooms – suited to higher heat-demand spaces
- Low build height – installed directly into adhesive or levelling compound
- Suitable for tiled finishes – ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone
- Maintenance-free – no moving parts or servicing required
Suitable Applications
Warmup StickyMat 220W/m² is ideal for:
- Bathrooms and en-suites
- Wet rooms
- Kitchens with tiled floors
- Areas with higher heat loss
- Regular-shaped rooms where mat systems install quickly and neatly
For irregular layouts or rooms with lots of fixtures, a loose wire or heated decoupling system may be more suitable.
Flooring Compatibility
Compatible floor finishes:
- Ceramic tiles
- Porcelain tiles
- Natural stone
Laminate, vinyl, carpet, or engineered wood should not be installed directly over this system. These finishes would require a different build-up and are not the normal application for this 220W/m² tiled-floor system.
For full advice, see our Underfloor Heating Compatibility Guide.
Installation Overview
- Roll out the StickyMat onto a prepared subfloor
- Cut the mesh only, never the cable, to turn and position the mat
- Embed it in flexible tile adhesive or self-levelling compound
- Install the tiled finish above
Correct insulation beneath the system is essential for good performance and lower running costs.
Short Comparison
Warmup StickyMat 220W/m² vs Lower-Output Heating Mats
-
220W/m² StickyMat
Best for bathrooms, wet rooms, and higher heat-loss areas where fast warm-up and stronger output are needed. -
150W/m² Heating Mats
Better suited to well-insulated living spaces, kitchens, and standard tiled rooms where steady background heating is enough.
Tip: Higher wattage is not automatically better. The right system depends on heat loss, insulation, floor finish, and how quickly you want the floor to warm up.
StickyMat vs EcoFloor vs Loose Wire – Which System Should I Choose?
-
StickyMat Heating Systems
Best for tiled bathrooms and high heat-demand areas where fast warm-up is required and the room is a fairly regular shape. -
EcoFloor Heating Cable Mats
Ideal for tiled living spaces and kitchens where steady, even heat is needed in well-insulated rooms. -
Loose Wire Heating Systems
Best for irregular room layouts or areas with obstacles such as toilets, basins, or islands.
Tip: Choose your system based on room shape and heat demand, not just wattage.
Refer to our Electric Underfloor Heating Collection Guide for full system comparisons and installation advice.

Warranty
What is the warranty? The Warmup StickyMat System, including the 220W/m² variant, comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty. This covers the heating system for as long as you own the property, provided it is registered with Warmup within 30 days of purchase and installed by a qualified contractor.
Key warranty details include:
- SafetyNet™ Installation Guarantee: if the StickyMat is accidentally damaged during installation before it is covered, Warmup will replace it free of charge.
- Coverage: defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
- Conditions: the system must be installed in accordance with the installation manual and building regulations.
Thermostat note: the mat itself carries the lifetime warranty, while Warmup thermostats such as the 6iE or Element typically come with a 3-year warranty, which may be extended when installed with a Warmup heater.
