Product Overview
The Select XLS Infrared Panel Heater forms part of Herschel’s high-performance XLS range, designed to deliver comfortable, low-energy radiant heat. Design, Installation & Placement
Slim, Space-Saving Design
The Select XLS features a clean, minimalist appearance that integrates easily into modern interiors without visual clutter.
Wall or Ceiling Installation
-
Can be wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted
-
Discreet placement improves heat distribution
-
Particularly effective when mounted above eye level
Selected Select XLS panels can be used as freestanding heaters when paired with optional support feet, offering flexibility where wall or ceiling mounting isn’t suitable.
- The optional feet (Premium design) are designed for use with the white Select XLS models in 300W, 400W, 600W, and 800W sizes.
- Incompatible Models: The feet are specifically noted as not for use with the Select XLS 1100W white panel heater.
- Orientation Note: The 800W model must be used in a landscape (horizontal) position when the feet are attached.
- Purpose: Adding the feet allows for temporary or seasonal use of the heater in different rooms without permanent wall or ceiling installation.
Professional installation is recommended for hard-wired setups. If you want guidance on the best mounting position by room type, see the Infrared Panel Heaters User Guide.
Flexible Installation Options (Including Freestanding Use)
The Herschel Select XLS Infrared Panel Heater offers multiple installation options to suit different spaces and requirements. In addition to wall and ceiling mounting, selected models can also be used as a freestanding heater when paired with optional support feet.
This flexibility makes the Select XLS range ideal for:
-
Homes where wall mounting isn’t possible
-
Temporary or movable heating setups
-
Offices, studios, and rental properties
Optional feet allow the panel to be positioned safely on the floor, delivering the same efficient radiant heat without permanent installation.
Smart Control & Comfort
The Select XLS range is compatible with Herschel SMART-R control technology, allowing precise temperature management when paired with suitable thermostats. This enables:
-
Zoned heating
-
Reduced energy waste
-
Greater control over comfort levels
There are three options (sold separately) for operating your XLS panel heaters. Choose from a battery operated controller (T-BT), a mains / USB powered controller (T-MT) or plug-in controller (T-PL). Both T-MT and T-PL have in built Wifi allowing APP and voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant. To choose a compatible controller (battery, mains/USB, or plug-in with WiFi), browse our Thermostats & Controls Collection.
The panels operate with zero noise and zero light, making them ideal for bedrooms, offices, and quiet spaces.
