When installing on mineral substrates without the use of Acoustik-Protect 50, Acoustik-Protect 100 or Acoustik-Protect 500, additional moisture protection by means of a PE film is absolutely necessary.
An optimum solution is the Parador PE film 30m² (price per m²), which is available on a 30 m² roll with a format width of two metres.
PE film, or polyethylene film, refers to a type of protective plastic sheeting used in construction and DIY projects to shield floors from damage, moisture, and dirt. When paired with floors, it acts as an underlayment to block rising damp for wood and laminate flooring on concrete subfloors.
- Application: For floated flooring installations, the film should be laid with an overlap of about 30 cm and sealed at the joints with adhesive tape to create a complete vapor seal.
